Rep. Marci Mustello
Rep. Marci Mustello

Pennsylvania State Rep. Marci Mustello serves the 11th District covering part of Butler County. She is on the Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Appropriations, Gaming Oversight, and Liquor Control committees. She serves as the Republican chair on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education

What are your top three legislative priorities in 2024?

My priorities are centered on improving our economy, strengthening our communities, and helping people.

What are the important issues facing your district?

At this point in time, high inflation is a serious issue for both families and businesses here and across the state. Locally, affordability of housing is a major challenge for people, and businesses are battling headwinds that include a lack of reliable labor and Pennsylvania’s regulatory climate.

What are the biggest challenges for grocers in your district?

Actual entry-level wages are currently far above the minimum wage and there is competition for proficient labor within the marketplace, which dramatically increases the cost of doing business. Additionally, inflation has reached levels that are changing consumer behaviors, which are having a negative impact on profitability.

What is your favorite food or meal to cook?

Growing up, I was fortunate to have some truly wonderful mentors when it came to the kitchen. I was taught how to make, from scratch, several traditional old-world Italian dishes that I still love to share with friends and family.

What do you like to do for fun?

Funny, because it fits so well with my role as an elected official, however, I really do enjoy community events. I love seeing local organizations, businesses, and individuals come together to celebrate through things like parades, festivals, and a variety of innovative fundraisers.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

I enjoy traveling throughout the United States. Our county is super-rich in terms of geographic diversity. Additionally, regional cultures most often create unique and wonderful travel experiences. Pennsylvania, by itself, has so much to offer in terms of travel. I always appreciate being able to visit different parts of the state, whether on business or just for fun.

What is your greatest success as a legislator over the past few years?

I believe my greatest success has been helping constituents. Pennsylvania’s bureaucracy is complex, cumbersome, and confusing. My District Office is one of the busiest in the Commonwealth and I take great pride in helping our residents and businesses.
