Membership

Types of Membership

PFMA offers two types of membership – retail and associate — to build an inclusive network of organizations representing the food and beverage industries.

Retail

All retailers who sell food in Pennsylvania are eligible to join. Retailers can include supermarkets and grocery stores, convenience stores, delicatessens, pharmacies, superettes and more. Members can serve on committees and on the Board of Directors.

Associate

Wholesalers and suppliers of goods and services to the retail food industry can join as associate members. PFMA associate members join a prestigious group of suppliers who enjoy the services and recognition provided by one of the nation's largest and most respected food industry associations. Members can serve on committees and on the Board of Directors.

Our online applications provide a secure and easy way to complete your membership. A credit card is required. You may also print an application and mail it to PFMA with your payment. Download the Retail Membership Application (PDF) or the Associate Membership Application (PDF)

Benefits of Joining PFMA

Becoming a member of PFMA offers unparalleled benefits for businesses within the food and beverage industries. Members gain access to exclusive networking opportunities, connecting with industry leaders and peers to share insights and forge valuable partnerships. The association provides advocacy on key legislative issues, ensuring members’ voices are heard at the state level. Joining the association is a strategic move to enhance growth and success in the competitive food and beverage sector.

Advocacy

PFMA represents the food retail industry at the state capitol, ensuring that legislators understand your point of view on legislative issues, such as adult beverage sales, cigarette pricing, milk marketing board pricing, minimum wage, SNAP/WIC regulations and funding, hours of service issues, and many other issues.

Programs

The association offers programs and seminars to assist our members and their employees. Two annual conferences focus on industry trends, as well as legislative issues. Our seminars bring nationally recognized experts and training specialists to provide workshops on current industry topics.

Communications

PFMA members have access to industry regulations, legislation, trends, member news and events through Spectrum, our bi-monthly magazine. PFMA also sends legislative and committee updates via email, is active on social media and offers several reports annually to keep members informed.

Scholarships

All members, their families and employees attending college are eligible to apply for the one-year Thomas R. and Laura Ridge Scholarship, up to $2,500. PFMA also can assist in establishing your organization's own scholarship through the Education Trust.

Business Contacts

Membership unites wholesalers, suppliers and vendors with grocery and convenience store retailers. Associate members also receive a free listing in PFMA's Buyer's Guide, which appears in Spectrum magazine, the annual Membership Directory and online.

Mailing List

Members receive a copy of our mailing list of more than 800 retailers in Pennsylvania, as well as access to the online version of our full membership directory.
